How Roof Me Metal Roofing collects, uses and protects your personal information, and the rights available to you under Canadian privacy law.
Last updated: July 2026
1. Introduction
Work Bangers Inc., operating as Roof Me Metal Roofing ("we", "us", "our"), respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to you.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable privacy legislation in the province in which we operate.
By using this website you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or submit information through it.
2. Information we collect
We only collect personal information that you choose to provide, together with limited technical information collected automatically when you visit the site.
Information you provide directly may include:
- Your name, email address and telephone number, when you complete a contact or estimate form.
- The address of the property you are enquiring about, and the roof details you enter into our online estimator, including the roof outline you draw, the roofing system you select and the roof pitch you choose.
- Your stated contact preference and any message or additional details you send us.
- Any information you provide in the course of correspondence, a site visit or a quotation.
3. Information collected automatically
When you visit the website, limited technical information may be collected automatically by our hosting provider and analytics tools. This can include your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view and the dates and times of your visits.
This information is used to keep the site secure and reliable, and to understand in aggregate how visitors use it. It is not used to identify you personally.
4. Mapping and address search
Our online estimator uses the Google Maps Platform to display satellite imagery and to suggest addresses as you type. When you use these features, your interactions with the map and the address text you enter are processed by Google in order to return results.
Google's handling of that information is governed by its own privacy policy and terms, which we do not control. We recommend reviewing Google's privacy policy if you would like to understand how it processes this data.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use them for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary cookies, which are required for the website to function, to maintain security and to remember your progress through the estimator.
- Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics, and session-recording cookies set by Microsoft Clarity, which help us understand how the website is used. These are described in the sections below.
- Third-party cookies that may be set by embedded services such as mapping. These are controlled by the relevant third party.
6. Managing cookies
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site — including the estimator — from working correctly.
You can opt out of Google Analytics on every website you visit by installing Google's browser add-on, or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them does not affect any part of this website.
7. Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use this website — for example which pages are viewed, how visitors arrived, and roughly where in the world they are. This helps us improve the site.
Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information including your IP address, device and browser type, referring page, and the pages you view. Google processes this information on our behalf and its own privacy policy governs how it does so. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, we do not run remarketing or advertising cookies, and we do not combine analytics data with the details you submit through the estimator or contact form.
Our hosting provider separately records standard server request logs for security and reliability purposes, as described above.
8. Session recordings and heatmaps
We use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors interact with the website. Clarity records a reconstruction of your visit — the pages you view, where you scroll, what you click or tap, and how long you spend — and combines these into heatmaps and playable session recordings. This helps us find parts of the site that are confusing or broken.
These recordings are not a video of your screen. They are a reproduction of the page built from interaction data, and we have configured them to hide the information you enter and the property you look up.
Specifically, the following are masked and are not visible to us in any recording: every field of the contact form and of the estimator's contact step, including your name, email address, telephone number, property address and message; the address you type into the estimator's search box; the property address wherever the site displays it back to you; and the satellite map of your property.
Microsoft processes this information on our behalf and may also use it in accordance with its own privacy statement. Clarity sets cookies to recognise returning sessions.
If you would prefer not to be recorded, blocking analytics cookies in your browser settings, or using your browser's Do Not Track or tracking-prevention feature, prevents Clarity from loading. No part of this website depends on it.
9. How we use your information
We use the personal information you provide in order to:
- Respond to your enquiry and provide the estimate or information you requested.
- Arrange and carry out a site visit, measurement or quotation.
- Perform a roofing contract with you, and communicate with you about it.
- Keep records for accounting, warranty and legal purposes.
- Improve our website, our services and the accuracy of our estimates.
10. Legal basis and consent
We rely on your consent to collect and use your personal information for the purposes set out above. You provide that consent when you submit a form or otherwise send us your details.
You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide a service to you. To withdraw consent, contact us using the details in the final section.
11. Sharing your information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We may share it only in the following circumstances:
- With service providers who help us operate the business — for example website hosting, email, mapping and customer-management tools — and only to the extent needed to perform that service.
- With suppliers or manufacturers where necessary to fulfil a warranty claim relating to your roof.
- Where required by law, regulation, legal process or an enforceable government request.
- To establish or exercise our legal rights, or to defend against legal claims.
12. Storage and international transfer
Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Canada. Where that is the case, the information may be subject to the laws of the country in which it is held, including lawful access requests by courts or authorities in that jurisdiction.
We use the following service providers to operate this website and to handle enquiries: Vercel (website hosting and request logs), Supabase (secure database storage of enquiry and estimate submissions), Resend (delivery of notification and confirmation emails), Google Maps Platform (satellite imagery and address suggestions in the estimator), Google Analytics (website usage measurement), and Microsoft Clarity (session recordings and heatmaps).
These providers operate global infrastructure and are headquartered outside Canada, primarily in the United States. Information relating to your visit or your enquiry may therefore be processed or stored outside Canada, where it may be accessible to foreign courts, law enforcement or regulatory authorities under the laws of those countries.
We take reasonable steps to work with providers that offer a comparable level of protection to that required in Canada.
13. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law.
In practice this means enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for a limited period and then deleted, while records relating to completed roofing projects are kept for longer to support warranty, tax and legal obligations.
If you would like to know how long we hold a particular record, or you would like it deleted, contact us using the details at the end of this policy.
14. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft and unauthorised access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.
No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
15. Your rights
Subject to certain legal exceptions, you have the right to:
- Ask whether we hold personal information about you, and request access to it.
- Request a correction to information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Withdraw your consent to our continued use of your information.
- Ask us to delete information we no longer have a legitimate reason to keep.
- Make a complaint about how we have handled your personal information.
16. Making a request or complaint
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at sale@roofme.ca. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or the privacy oversight body for your province.
17. Children's privacy
Our website and services are directed at homeowners and other adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
18. Links to other websites
Our site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and this policy does not apply to them. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.
19. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or legal obligations. The revised version takes effect when it is posted, and the date at the top of this page will be updated.
